Webcam Ustron. Central Square
Ustroń is a Polish town in the Silesian Voivodeship. Despite its modest population of fifteen thousand, it has the status of a town municipality. But this modest village was named a town only in 1956, although it was mentioned as a family settlement of Cieszyn princes already in 1305. In the past centuries the provincial village has turned into a popular skiing resort and a balneological health resort.
In Ustroń there are preserved wooden buildings, demonstrating the architectural preferences of the past centuries. Among the most interesting examples of wooden religious buildings is the church of St. Anne, built by Catholics in 1769. Another interesting example of sacral architecture is St. Clemens church, consecrated in 1788 in accordance with Roman-catholic rites.
From the balneological point of view the foothill spa in Ustroń, belonging to the forest zone at the same time, is efficient in curing various diseases. The high content of high thermal mineral water of chloride-sodium-calcium compounds and radon brine in the local springs, supported by deposits of therapeutic mud, improve the condition of patients.
