The small village of Mallnitz is located in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, in the northern part of the Malnitzbach Valley. In addition to the beauty of the surrounding mountains with their almost untouched nature, this young resort is attractive for two more factors - excellent transport links to the whole country (through the village there are cars and railways to the Gasteinertal Valley) and proximity to modern ski centers (Beckstein lies just behind the pass, to Badgastein - 15 km, to Oberfellach - 6 km). In addition, the surrounding Malnitz mountain ranges Scharekk (3122 m), Gamskarlspitz (2,832 m), Maresenspitz (2,915 m), Terlkopf (2,448 m) and Besekk (2,834 m) are themselves able to provide a variety of conditions for skiing.
