Webcam Rzeszow. Market Square
Medieval architecture, ancient dungeons and cultural wealth are surprisingly combined in the small Rzeszów - a city with an ancient history and an interesting present.
Rzeszów (Rzeszów) is an ancient town on the banks of the WisÅ‚ok River in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. The town was granted its status and therefore the Magdeburg Rights in 1354 by the Polish king Casimir the Great. For a long time it was the property of the Lubomirski family.
Today Rzeszow is a cultural and educational center of southeastern Poland, where a lot of sports, cultural and entertainment events take place. For example, in July it gathers performers and guests from different countries of Europe for the music festival "Carpathia", and in the fall there are theatrical meetings.
The market square is the historic center of Rzeszow, and most of the local architecture dates back to the mid-19th century.
The heart of the place is the local Town Hall. Built at the end of the 16th century, it was restored several times (most recently in 1996) because of fires and wars. Today the town hall is located here.
In addition to a large number of stores and cafes on the square there is another attraction - the old well of the XVI century. Its depth is about 30 meters and in ancient times it was the main source of water for local residents.
