Nice is located in the extreme south-east of continental France, 30 km from the border of France and Italy. Distance to Paris — 960 km, to Marseille — 230 km, to Genoa — 200 km. The city lies on the shore of the Bay of Angels, near the city is the mouth of the river Var. To the north, Nice is surrounded by several low hills.
The Promenade des Anglais is one of the largest embankments in Nice. It starts from the bridge of Napoleon III and ends with the passage to the street Quai des États-Unis.
