In Australia, there is a coastal area in southeastern Queensland called the Sunshine Coast, which translates as the Sunshine Coast. Its area is 312450 hectares and the number of inhabitants is equal to 323423 people. However, the latter figures are subject to change due to seasonal workers and tourists. It is the third most populated area in the state after the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
The latter is the nearest major city and is located 100 kilometers away. The Sunshine Coast is bounded to the east by the Coral Sea. The area is mostly flat, but there are mountains with a height of 200-550 meters above sea level - Glass House Hills.
On the west side is the mountain range Blakall Range, with a maximum height of 800 meters. Two rivers Maroochy and Mooloolah originate here. The area was originally called Kalaoundra and was originally inhabited by the Gaby Gaby, Dallambarra, Nalbo, and Andumbi tribes.
The first settlers came here in 1820. They were runaway convicts fleeing from punishment. On the Sunshine Coast, the main problem is the lack of water, so the local authorities impose restrictions on its use and introduce various projects. For example, they create artificial reservoirs of fresh water. The largest of these is Lake Barun.
The Sunshine Coast region of Australia has a subtropical climate, with humid and hot summers. This part of the state is the "rainiest," with an average annual rainfall of 1,350 mm.
For this reason, it is difficult to identify a period of drought. Statistically, the driest period is the winter, from July to October. In summer the maximum temperature reaches 28 degrees Celsius, and in winter - 21 degrees during the day and 10 degrees at night. These figures can vary greatly from year to year. Sometimes there are quite dry winters, then the area imposes restrictions on the use of water. There is also an increased risk of wildfires, which are very damaging to agriculture. And during heavy rains, floods occur, resulting in flooding of local rivers.
The city of Caloundra (Caloundra) is located on the shores of the Coral Sea, but most of the territory of the city are plains, on which there are separate mountains, their height not exceeding 550 meters.
Bulcock Beach is located opposite the northern part of the island of Braybaye, near the central business district of the city, close to numerous cafes and restaurants.
