Bergen is the second largest city in Norway, the capital of Fylke Hordaland and the largest city in Western Norway. It is located in the west of the country, on the North Sea coast in the Midthorland region. It occupies the Bergen Peninsula, protected from the sea by the islands of Askey, Holsney and Sutra.
Ulriken is the highest of the Seven Mountains (De syv fjell) surrounding the city of Bergen. Its height is 643 meters (according to other sources, 642 meters or 640 meters above sea level. At the top of the mountain is a tower for television and radio broadcasting, as well as a cafe and observation telescopes.
