Webcam Newquay. Great Western Beach

Newquay is a town on the north coast in Cornwall, southwest England. It is a civil parish, seaside resort, regional aerospace center, future spaceport and fishing port on the North Atlantic coast of Cornwall, about 19 km north of Truro and 32 km west of Bodmin.

It is bounded on the south by the Gunnell River and its associated salt marsh, and on the northeast by the Port Valley. The western edge of the city meets the Atlantic Ocean at Fistral Bay.

The city has been expanding inland (southward) since the former fishing village of Newquay began to grow in the second half of the nineteenth century.
Newquay has been a major tourist destination for more than a century, mainly because of its coastline and nine long and accessible sandy beaches, including Fistral.

The town has a population of about 22,000, but in the summer the population can increase to 100,000 or more as Newquay has a large supply of vacation housing.
