Schauenburg Castle Ruins (Schauenburg) - ruins on the top of the hill Burgberg (Burgberg) in the west of the municipality of Schauenburg in the Kassel district, Northern Hesse (Germany). Schauenburg Castle was built between 600 and 800 AD, at a time when the historic region of Hessengau had already become part of the Frankish state.
