The island of Oryo is deep in the Ise Fjord, located in the northwestern part of the Danish island of Zealand. The area of Oryo is approximately 15.02 km². There are four settlements on the island: Bübjerg, Bronde, Gamlöse and Nesby with 831 inhabitants (2011). In addition, there are about 1,400 seasonal, summer houses and villas on Orö.
Administratively, Orö forms - together with several other small and uninhabited islands - the parish of Oryo. Since 2007, it has been part of the municipality of Holbeck in the region of Zealand. Aarø is also a member of the Union of Small Danish Islands.
