Webcam Salerno. Panorama of the coast

Salerno is a sunny old town located in southern Italy. This resort is the center of the province of the same name, a romantic land of castles, ancient cathedrals and lush landscapes. Salerno stretches along the coast of the Salerno Gulf of Tyrrhenian Sea, halfway between the mountains of the Sorrento Peninsula and the vast Sele Valley. The city is full of attractions.

Palaces and churches dot the narrow medieval streets and elegant squares, while local museums carefully preserve artifacts and works of art. Tourists admire Salerno's waterfront, one of the most beautiful in Italy, and the mighty castle, towering over the sea. Travelers are also attracted by the opportunity to relax on the legendary Amalfi Coast, at the tip of which is the city.

The cozy and flourishing Salerno preserves priceless monuments of antiquity, evidence of its turbulent history, splendor, wealth and cultural prosperity over the centuries. The old town is ideal for hiking, but don't try to walk around it in a day, although it's realistic.

There are so many monuments in Salerno that trying to see them all at once can cause "cultural oversaturation."

It's nice to take a leisurely, measured stroll around town, checking out atmospheric bars, restaurants, and pizzerias along the way to get the best possible taste of the local gastronomy. Wander around the historic neighborhoods during the morning or evening hours and head for one of the many leafy oases that have earned Salerno its nickname, "Garden City". Centuries-old trees and exotic plants bloom in the vast parks, and neat paths wind through the neighborhood. In some places there are meadows for sports and play areas for children. Concerts, theater performances, and fairs are often held in the parks.
