The resort city of Gelendzhik stands at the foot of the mountain range Markotkh, which overlooks the picturesque Gelendzhik Bay in the Black Sea. From here to Novorossiysk 25 kilometers to the north-west, and to Sochi - 250 kilometers to the south-east.
The mild climate of Gelendzhik is compared to the Southern coast of Crimea and the Mediterranean: hot, dry summers and warm, wet winters. January is the coldest here. Siberians will find such "frost" ridiculous: in this month the temperature drops to zero degrees Celsius. Snow is a rare occurrence at the resort, but the northeastern winds blow with all their might in November and December.
The magnificent bay and the southern sun are the main attractions of Gelendzhik, complemented by dozens of interesting places.
