Webcam Elephant Trunk Mountain (China) in real time
The Elephant Trunk Mountain is located at the confluence of the Li River and the Peach Blossom River in the southern center of Guilin. It resembles a huge elephant with its trunk in the river. Hence its name. The elephant trunk is a symbol of Guilin.
Between the "elephant trunk" and its "body" there is a circular cave called the Water Moon. In this place, at the full moon there is a stunning view of the river: the moon illuminates everything around, its bright light plays on the small waves of the river. Many poets and artists have found inspiration in this place.
In and around the cave itself, there are many inscriptions made centuries ago. The most famous one is by Lu Yu, one of the four great poets of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279).
