Lenin Street is one of the main streets of Apatity. It was named in honor of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, Russian and Soviet political and statesman of the world scale, revolutionary, founder of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party (Bolsheviks), one of the organizers and leaders of the October 1917 revolution in Russia, chairman of the Council of People's Commissars (Government) of the RSFSR, creator of the first socialist state in world history.

Street Socialist (now Lenin Street) was built as the first city street of Apatity, the construction of which began in the mid 50's. The street was built up with five-storey cinder-block houses, which not yet existed in Apatity. At first the street was narrow, with a separating strip.

And in 1970, in honor of 100 anniversary of Lenin's birthday it was renamed into Lenin Street.
After that, road builders began to expand it.

Today, Lenin Street is built up with nine-story buildings. At the intersection with Cosmonauts Street, there is a nine-story hotel "Amethyst".

The street is located in the central part of the city, running from northwest to southeast.
The street starts from Lenin Square. It has a large intersection with Cosmonaut street. The street ends with the residential complex "Snegiri", ending in Sidorenko Avenue.
