A monument to John Capodistria is located in the eastern part of the Greek island of Corfu, in the city of Corfu.
John Capodistrias was a native and resident of the city and in 1827 he was the first president of Greece, but from 1816 to 1822 he was the administrator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. Capodistrius therefore personified Russian-Greek relations and was also in favor of rapprochement with France.
The monument to the prominent Greek leader consists of a stone statue of Kapodistrias, made in full height, and mounted on a low pedestal.
