Online camera Stavropol. Rogozhnikov Street in real time

The city of Stavropol is the center of Stavropol Krai, formerly part of the Southern Federal District and since 2010 part of the North Caucasus Federal District.

A fortress in the steppe, which became a city of the cross - this is how we can describe the history of Stavropol. After all, this city was formed from a fortress, created in 1777 on the Azovo-Mozdok defense line under the great commander Suvorov, Alexander Vasilyevich. The place for construction was chosen elevation, the approaches to which were limited by deep ravines and rivers Tashla, Mamayka, Mutnyanka and Zhelobovka.

The city is located in the North Caucasus, in the south of Russia, or more precisely, on the southwestern side of the Stavropol Uplands. The city is equally far from the equator and the North Pole, as it is located just on the 45th geographic parallel. The regional capital is located on the highest point of the Caucasus, at an equal distance from the Black and Caspian Seas.
The area of today's Stavropol is about 245 square kilometers and the length of the border is just over 165 kilometers.
