Estepona is a city on the famous Costa del Sol. Estepona belongs to the province of Malaga, and is located 82 kilometers from its administrative center, the city of Malaga.
Estepona is known in Spain as the "Garden of the Costa del Sol". The fact that in the twentieth century this town was almost completely rebuilt, having designed many of the streets in the characteristic Andalusian style. And although Estepona underwent intensive urbanization at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries, it retained its Andalusian essence. Today, Estepona (total area of 137 sq. km.) is divided into 8 neighborhoods, each with a distinctive architectural and historical component.
The population of Estepona is close to 67,000 and it is characterized by a multinational composition: the number of foreigners living here is the highest in Andalusia (about 25%). This situation is due to the fact that in the late twentieth century in Estepona there was an increase in tourism, and some foreigners have not only come here to rest, but also stayed to live.
