The James Clark Ross is a specially built research vessel designed to operate in the Antarctic. It is perfectly equipped for delivering cargo in the ice. The reinforced hull allows the vessel to break young ice, it can go through broken ice up to 1.5 m thick or through floating ice over 3 m thick. "James Clark Ross" is able to stay at sea for up to 10 months, has fully equipped laboratories on board. It can be equipped with additional container laboratories.
