Webcam Sousse d'Oulx ski region. Sportigna
Sauze d'Oulx is a resort area located in the valley of the Val di Susa in the province of Turin. The region is part of the resort region of Vialattea, also known as the Milky Way.
Sousse d'Ulx has seen many events throughout its history: it has repeatedly been a staging ground for troops, passed through by the Roman legions, the Goths and the Lombards. In the 60s agriculture ceased to develop in the town, and the region became a resort. In 80s ski resort Sauze d'Ulx was extremely popular with the "golden youth" of the time, there were always noisy parties, discos and performances.
Nowadays, the region is one of the quietest and most peaceful resorts in the valley, which makes it a great place to stay with children.
The main entertainment in Sauze d'Oulx is skiing, and for those who don't enjoy skiing, there are plenty of recreational options - hiking, snowmobiling, shopping, spas, clubs, restaurants and bars. Fishing, horseback riding, and mountain climbing are very popular in the summer. There are more than 400 kilometers of pistes of varying difficulty and altitude on the territory of the resort.
Half of them (220 km) are red, suitable for experienced skiers. The most popular among the athletes of an average level are the descents from the top of Col Basset (height, 2424 m) to the Jouvenceaux Valley. There are also a number of scenic runs from the top of Sportinia (2137m) to the lower elevators of Sauze d'Oulx. Professionals can try their hand on the slopes from Fraiteve and Moncrons peaks. There are five black runs totaling 84 kilometers in the valley, but even the red runs of Souza d'Oulx will not let the professionals be bored.
For beginners, the pistes of the region can be quite difficult. However, there are separate training areas in the Clotes and P. Rocca areas, as well as near the Clotes ski elevator. The several ski schools in Sauze d'Oulx will help beginners to learn quickly their skiing techniques and to cross the many blue pistes (total length of about 96 km). The resort region is served by a network of 62 ski elevators, many of which enable access to the neighboring resorts that make up the Via Lattea (Cesana, Sestriere, Montgenevre).
