Caloundra Webcam. King's Beach (Australia) online
The city of Caloundra is located on the shores of the Coral Sea, but most of the territory of the city is occupied by plains, on which there are individual mountains, their height does not exceed 550 meters.
The area is bounded on the west by the Blackall Range, with some peaks reaching up to 800 meters in height. This range is part of the Great Dividing Range.
The first European settlers came to this territory in the 1820s. They were runaway convicts who came to live with the Australian aborigines who had long lived in the area.
In 1868, the government opened up land previously unavailable for settlement. In 1987, Landsbare County was granted city status and named Caloundra.
Tourism in the town is only locally developed. Tourists come here from Brisbane from other parts of Queensland. There are many beaches here, varying in their infrastructure, sand quality, protection from the waves and cleanliness.
Golden Beach is protected from the waves by Braybaye Island to the east, so it's safe and suitable for kids. It is very convenient for boating, kitesurfing and fishing. Due to the shallow depth at low tide, you can practically walk from Golden Beach to Braybaye Island.
Kings Beach is the city's central beach. It has picnic areas, playgrounds, showers and toilets. Nearby is a 25-meter swimming pool filled with salt water.
