Webcam Bratsk. Peace Ring / Peace Street, Obrucheva Street (Irkutsk region)
Bratsk is a city located on the territory of Irkutsk region, the administrative center of Bratsk district. It stands on the banks of two reservoirs on the Angara River - Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk. It combines many residential areas, scattered from each other for long distances: they are separated by water and forest spaces. The districts vary in terms of the level of amenities and territorial scale.
Previously, these were settlements formed near industrial enterprises, which at that time began to be built on the territory of Bratsk. The area of land occupied by the city is 428 square kilometers. In terms of population, Bratsk is in second place in the region (after Irkutsk). The date of the founding of the city is considered 1955. The settlement appeared due to the construction of the Bratsk Hydroelectric Power Plant, which is located north of the village of Bratsk. The latter was formed as an ostrog in the distant 1631. Today the city has the status of the largest industrial center in the Angara region.
"Globe of the world" on the ring of Mir-Obruchev in Bratsk was installed in the 70s. On the ribbon encircling the globe, the word "Peace" is translated in several languages. In the 2000s, the Globe was reconstructed.
