Rovaniemi is a city and municipality in Finland, the administrative center of the province of Lapland and the province of the same name. It is located 8 km south of the Arctic Circle, at the confluence of the two major northern rivers Ounasjoki and Kemijoki. Distance to Helsinki 800 km, to St. Petersburg 1025 km.
Lordi Square is the central square of Rovaniemi. Previously, this square was called "Sampo". But after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, the local rock band Lordi, it was decided to rename the square in honor of the musicians.
