The main objective of a zoo is to inspire and excite visitors of wonderfull life of animals, and thus to promote preservation of endangered species and their habitats.
Opened in 1913 and owned by the Royal Scottish Zoological Society, the zoo sits on Corstorphine Hill overlooking Edinburgh. The zoo is the second most visited attraction in Scotland after Edinburgh Castle and is visited by about 600 thousand people from all over the world every year.
