Webcam Gozow Wielkopolski. Panorama of the city

Gorzów Wielkopolski or simply Gorzów, a city in western Poland, on the Warta River. It is the second largest city in the Lubuskie Voivodeship with a population of 115,309 and one of the two capitals with the residence of the governor of the voivodeship (the other is Zielona Góra ). Previously it was the capital of the province of Gorzów (1975-1998).
Gorzów is known for its successful athletes, including Olympic champions, world champions and national representatives. The city is also known as the hometown of former Polish Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz.

There are two large forested areas around Gorzów: the Gorzów Forest in the north, where the Barliniek-Gorzów Landscape Park is located, and the Notec Forest in the southeast. The biggest oil fields in Poland are near Gorzów.
Although the center of Gorzów was badly damaged during World War II, the city still has many famous tourist attractions. The largest of these is the Gothic Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, dating from the late 13th century, located on the old market square.

The city center is mostly occupied by Communist-era buildings, although many of them have been improved, especially the buildings around the old market square. Many of the facades of the buildings in the center were renovated ahead of the visit of Pope John Paul II to Gorzów in 1997. Because of its many parks and green spaces, Gorzów is called the "City of Parks and Gardens". In addition to the central park, there is an observation deck on top of the hill of Siemiradzki Park, which offers spectacular views of the plains and forests to the south of the city.
