ะก The Wailing Wall was part of the most impressive structure ever built in Jerusalem. It is one of four walls that Herod the Great built to support the 1,555,000 square foot site on which the Temple stood.
It reached nearly 1,500 feet in length, and its remains can still be seen by descending into the underground tunnels beneath the Wailing Wall. The Temple was originally about 90 feet high and went underground about 60 feet.
