Webcam Ventotene. Port Nuovo
Ventotene is an Italian island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, one of the islands of the Ponzian Archipelago. The closest islands to Ventotene are Ischia 20 miles east-southeast and Ponza 22 miles west-northwest. The island of Ventotene is of volcanic origin. Ventotene can be translated from Italian as "windy" or "blown by the winds".
The main and only city of the island, Porto Vecchio, is located in the north of the island. This ancient Roman harbor in the rocks makes a lasting impression. Next to Porto Vecchio is the new port of Porto Nuovo.
Boaters can find a berth in both Porto Vecchio and Porto Nuovo.
A mile east of Ventotene is the former prison island of Santo Stefano.
