Webcam Biysk. Udarnaya street, Leningradskaya street (Altai region)

Leningradskaya Street is located in the "bedroom community" of Biisk. Biysk, in the so-called settlement of chemists.
In the 30's Biysk reached only to the railway station, and here there was a pine forest, the village of Mochische and dacha plots. The name of the village has been preserved in the name of the microdistrict, in which Leningradskaya Street rests to the north.

And it came from the fact that there was a large lake near the village, where hemp was soaked for rope production. Thanks to the rope production Mochische became known in Europe - a twisting machine, invented by a local handyman, was awarded a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris at the beginning of the century.
In the 1950s Biysk and the land near Mochische were chosen as a place for the construction of large chemical plants for the defense industry and their think tank - Research Institute № 9. Today it is FNPTs Altai - one of the city-forming enterprises, thanks to which Biysk received the status of a "science city".

For construction of defense enterprises, housing and urban infrastructure in 1953 it was established a construction department number 122. And on the Komsomol trip young volunteer builders from Leningrad arrived in Biisk. In honor of them Leningradskaya street was named.
The construction of residential quarters was carried out according to a clear architectural plan - quarters AB, VG, DE, ZH were divided. But in time the name of the first block was spread over the whole settlement, and now it is called the "AB neighborhood. They began erecting barracks and buildings like K-7 and K-9, the first panel khrushchevkas. They remained at the intersection of Leningradskaya and Pugachev streets, and in 2013, it was proposed not to demolish them, but to leave them as a monument to the builders.

In the Soviet years, the AB neighborhood was one of the most well-kept and prosperous in Biysk, thanks to its affiliation with the defense industry. Its special pride is the forest-park zone to the south from Leningradskaya, which includes a pine forest, a beach on the river Biya and cultural and sports objects set among nature.
Today Leningradskaya is a street with a standard residential development of the 50-60s with developed infrastructure.
