Trakia is located in the southeastern part of Plovdiv, it was built from 1973 to 1976 to solve the housing problem in the rapidly developing city. Trakia is the youngest district of Plovdiv and the third largest district in Bulgaria. In the area is an industrial zone, which is located mostly in the electronics industry.
Currently, the area has a well-developed urban infrastructure, with stores, shopping centers, clinics, kindergartens and schools. Trakia area consists of 13 residential neighborhoods, in which built nearly 260 residential buildings. Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria and administrative center of Plovdiv region.
It has an area of about 110 km² and has a population of about 384,156 inhabitants. Currently, Plovdiv is the second industrial center in Bulgaria after Sofia and the largest and most important center of the agricultural area of Verkhnefraki Lowlands.
