The San Diego Zoo is one of the largest and most progressive zoos in the world, which contains more than four thousand individuals of 800 species of animals. The main part of the zoo can be explored in 40 minutes by a tour bus or an overhead tram. The zoo is famous for its large number of animals and a rich collection of plants (40 types of bamboo and 18 variations of eucalyptus for feeding koala bears). The San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Park, and the San Diego Zoo Conservation Research Center are managed by the non-profit organization the Zoological Society of San Diego (ZSSD). The park hosts various educational programs for children. The zoo is located in Balboa Park, a five-minute drive north of downtown San Diego. The zoo is open daily, including holidays from 9: 00 to 17: 00. It is best to come in the morning and in the afternoon, when the animals are most active. For the convenience of moving around the park, it is better to use the map.
A one-day ticket for visitors from 3 to 11 years old costs$ 27, 12 years and older-$37.
The ticket includes unlimited rides on an overhead tram( cable car), an express bus, and a guided tour bus.
