Webcam Sicignano, Alburni Ridge
Cicignano degli Alburni (also known simply as Cicignano) is a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in Campania, in southern Italy.
Sicignano is located between the Tanagro River valley and the Alburni mountain range; its territory lies mainly in the Cilento National Park and the Vallo di Diano.
The municipality borders Auletta, Buccino, Castelcivita, Contursi Terme, Ottati, Palomonte, Petina and Postiglione.
The earliest documentation about Cicignano is a medieval donation document dated 1086 in which the Norman Count Ascletino Cicignano, Lord of Polla (died 1086), describes the Abbey of Cava dei Tirreni the Monastery of St. Peter and the Church of St. Catherine, located in Castrum Pollae.
