Fedotovo is a village in the Vologda district of the Vologda Oblast, it forms Fedotovo rural settlement.
Fedotovo is the largest settlement of the Vologda district, according to the 2010 census its population is 5,276 people (10% of the district population, 4th place among all rural settlements).
The village is located in the west of the Vologda district, on the border with Sheksninsky district. It borders on the Staroselskoye Rural Settlement.
Highway A114 passes 10 km to the south of Fedotovo (Vologda - Novaya Ladoga), the distance to Vologda - about 40 km. The nearest railway station - Kipelovo - is located in the village of the same name 4 km north of Fedotovo.
The village was built as a military camp at the airfield Kipelovo in 1963. In 1966, it was named Fedotovo in honor of the first commander of the 392nd Separate Long Range Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment Alexander Sergeevich Fedotov (Air Force of the Northern Fleet).
In 1965 a secondary school was built in the village, in 1966 - kindergarten and music school, in 1970 - Fedotovo district hospital.
