Webcam Mount Pedra Bonita in Tijuca National Park

Tijuca National Park is located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Among the park's tourist elements, paths, caves and waterfalls are the city's famous landmarks, such as the Gávea Stone, Corcovado and the statue of Christ the Redeemer or the Peak de la Tijuca, the highest point of the park, located at 1022 meters above sea level. Covering nearly 4,000 hectares, the park covers part of the Tijuca Massif, which dominates the mountainous terrain. It is managed by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMB). Chico Mendez Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio).

The park includes the Floresta da Tijuca forest, which plays a fundamental role for the city of Rio, preventing slope erosion, floods and collapses and reducing air pollution. It also has various water sources that help supply the city while providing recreation and quality of life for residents, as well as preserving the landscape and developing tourism. The preservation of the park is directly linked to the well-being, health and wealth of the city, of which it is perhaps the greatest legacy.

Tijuca National Park was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1991.
The local flora and fauna are typical of the forested areas of Brazil's Atlantic coast. Here you can easily see a gecko, iguana or other lizards, raccoon, armadillo, anteater, various primates and poisonous snakes. Hawks, buzzards, lacewings and doves soar in the sky, while hummingbirds and parrots sit on the branches.
At the main entrance, guests are greeted by a picturesque waterfall named after French artist Nicolas Tone.

Mount Pedra Bonita rises to 693 meters. A peak of this level is more of a landmark than an object of mountain climbing.
