Webcam Yalta. City panorama

Yalta is the main resort of the southern coast of Crimea, the key tourist center of the Republic and recognized by many travelers as a cultural gem of the region. The city is located 90 kilometers from the Simferopol airport, at the intersection of major Crimean highways, forming the center of the Greater Yalta, which includes neighboring Alupka, Gurzuf, Massandra, Gaspra and several dozen other seaside villages.

The origin of the city, as well as the etymology of the name, is still debatable - it is believed that the Greeks founded it in 1154, and since then the southern port has changed many masters. Despite the long history of the settlement of tourism in Yalta was born only at the end of the XIX century, when the nobility close to the imperial court began to build estates here, and the then Governor of Count Vorontsov ordered the creation of the first sanatorium and landscaped park areas.

In Yalta mixed the air from the sea, rich in iodine, sea salt with the air of the foothills, where grow Crimean pines, cypresses, junipers, ideal for patients with lung diseases. Before the invention of penicillin in Yalta improved the condition of tuberculosis patients, they were given a few more years of life. Warm, but not scorching summer sun gives quite a long holiday season.

Without water procedures people start coming here in April, the beach season opens in early June and swimming - in the second half of the month. The reason for this is the deep sea, which slowly warms up. The summer temperature reaches +26+30 degrees, and the water most often stops at +22+24, rarely getting warmer.

Bathing ends by the end of September with the famous "velvet" season. Yalta parks are a hybrid of creations of nature with the works of human hands. To the trees and plants, which have long grown in the Crimea, were specially brought beautiful additions from all over the world.
