Webcam Lipetsk. Sovetskaya Street, Frunze Street online in real time
Lipetsk is a regional center located on both banks of the Voronezh River, a large industrial center with a population of over half a million people. The city is divided into four territorial districts: Left Bank, Right Bank, Oktyabrsky and Sovetsky, each subdivided into districts.
The city is a large industrial city in the Central Black Earth Region, located on the Voronezh River, at the confluence of the Lipovka River. It is a "brother" of St. Petersburg - both cities were founded by Peter I in 1703. The history of Lipetsk began with the construction of an iron works and a workers' camp attached to it. It received the status of a city in 1779. At the beginning of the 19th century mineral springs were found in Lipetsk, where the Emperor Alexander I founded a resort for the nobility.
However, Lipetsk never gained its fame as a resort. In 1902, a metallurgical plant began to be built in the city, and in 1934 a new industrial giant - the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant - was put into operation. So Lipetsk turned from a resort town into a city of metallurgists.
The city's main attractions are its historical and cultural heritage, its history, its geography, its traditions and the world of art. All the main attractions are concentrated in the historic center of Lipetsk. The central square is dominated by the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ, built in 1803, with a monument to V. I. Lenin next to it - an amazing combination!
There are two beautiful historical parks in Lipetsk - the Upper and Lower. It is also worth visiting the Holy Dormition Monastery of the XVII century and walking down the Petrovsky Spusk with its cascading fountains. With entertainment in Lipetsk is also all right. There are five museums, three theaters, a philharmonic hall, exhibition halls, cultural and entertainment centers, night clubs, a zoo and many cafes and restaurants.
