Webcam Sevastopol - Cape Chersonese coast

Cape Chersonese is a cape in the west of the Heracleian Peninsula, the westernmost point of Sevastopol (refers to the Gagarin district of the city) and the southern part of the Crimean peninsula. It juts out into the Black Sea.

On the Cape since 1816, operates a lighthouse, ensures the approach of ships and vessels to the port of Sevastopol, lighthouse height of 36 meters. In spring and summer of 1942, it was the place of fierce battles of the Coastal Army, becoming one of the iconic places of Sevastopol's heroic defense. Other names of this cape are also known: Parthenius, Parthenon, Lantern-Cap.
