Mykines is the westernmost island in the Faroe Archipelago. Next to the island is a small rocky island Michines-Helmur, which is the westernmost point of the archipelago. From Michines Island to Michines Helmur Island, a 35-meter bridge has been built, which is popular with tourists. A lighthouse was built on the island, later switched to automatic mode.
