Foz do Iguaçu (Foz do Iguaçu - "Iguaçu estuary") is a small town in Brazil, world-famous for its location close (20 km) to the grandiose Iguaçu Falls (Iguaçu). It is the 4th largest city in the state of Paraná, located in its western part.
At 1.2 thousand kilometers from Rio de Janeiro, at 536 km from the state capital Curitiba, at the place where the national borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet, called the "Triple Frontier".
The Bridge of International Friendship (Ponte Internacionais da Amizade) connects the Brazilian city with the Paraguayan Ciudad del Este, standing on the opposite bank of the Parana River, and the Ponte Tancredo Neves, spanning the Rio Iguazu River, connects it to the Argentine town of Puerto Iguazu.
The city has an area of more than 170 km² and a population of almost 320,000 people.
