Vologda is a city in Russia, the administrative, cultural, transport and scientific center of the Vologda region, the center of the Vologda district, which is not included, having the status of a city of regional significance and forming the urban district of the city of Vologda.
Vologda is located 450 kilometers from Moscow and 650 kilometers from St. Petersburg. The population of the city is 306 593 people (2022). The area is 116 sq.km.
Predtechenskaya street was formed from three pre-revolutionary streets: Predtechenskaya (from the river to Galkinskaya), Ekaterininskaya (from Galkinskaya to Vetoshkinskaya), Nikolo-Glinkovskaya (from Vetoshkinskaya to Mir).
On May 9, 1936 Predtechenskaya was renamed to Pionerskaya, and Ekaterininskaya and Nikolo-Glinkovskaya were united to Menzhinskogo.
On December 19, 1959, Menzhinskogo and Pionerskaya were merged into Menzhinskogo.
On September 26, 1991, Menzhinskogo was renamed to Predtechenskaya.
