Webcam Pavlovsk. Bear Lane (Leningrad region)
Medvezhy - alley in the city of Pavlovsk Pushkin district of St. Petersburg. It runs from Michurin Street to Gospitalnaya Street.
In 1777-1787 years along the route of the present Bear lane laid water line, which was part of the system Taitsky aqueduct. Now it passes under the sidewalk on the odd side.
The original name Bear Street for the section from Beryozovaya Street to Hospitalnaya Street appeared in the 1830s. Its origin is not clear. Apparently it has some connection with the neighboring Swan street and the former Vorobin alley (nowadays Pervogo Maya street). Since the mid-1840s the street becomes Bear Lane.
Around 1939, the alley was renamed into Karel Liebknecht Street - in honor of the German Workers' Movement figure K.Liebknecht.
In the 1950s, was abolished site south of Hospitalnaya Street, although the building along its red line is stored (house 20, building 1, Gospitalnaya Street).
On June 11, 2003, the historical name - Bear Lane - was returned.
