Webcam Vasiliki
On the south coast of Lefkada, 4 km from Agia Petros and about 40 km from the capital, lies the resort town of Vassiliki. Until recently, Vassiliki was just a small fishing village. Today it is considered the second largest resort of the island after Nidri.
Vassiliki is located in a cozy natural bay, which is surrounded by picturesque mountains, overgrown with lush vegetation. The tourist infrastructure of Vassiliki is very well developed and you will find almost everything you need for a good holiday (stores, medical center, post office, police, etc). Here you will find a good choice of excellent hotels and comfortable apartments. However, you should take care about accommodation in advance, as the resort is very popular and in the middle of summer the choice will be quite limited.
In the area of the seafront are concentrated most of the restaurants and taverns, where you can relax and enjoy the excellent Greek cuisine. For the more energetic visitor there is an excellent nightclub in Vasiliki. The beaches of the resort and its neighboring areas are predominantly pebbly.
Famous all over the world for its climate, which is ideal for windsurfing, today Vasiliki is considered one of the best places of this kind in the world. Here you can find excellent windsurfing clubs and schools (for beginners) and equipment rental centers. Sailing, kitesurfing, biking and horseback riding are also very popular in Vasiliki.
The small harbor of Vasiliki offers during summer a regular boat trip to the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca. It is also possible to book a small excursion or rent a boat and visit the most beautiful beaches of the island, Porto Katsiki, Agiofili and Alexori.
