Strakonice Castle (Hrad Strakonice) is a medieval castle of the XIII century in the town of Strakonice in the South Bohemian region, one of the oldest in the Czech Republic. The castle is located on a hill at the confluence of the Otava and Volinka rivers. For a long period, the castle served as the residence of the Grand Prior of the Order of St. John in the Czech Republic. The castle has been rebuilt several times since its foundation, which is why it has preserved the features of various architectural styles, starting with the Romanesque. In 1995, it was included in the list of national cultural monuments of the Czech Republic.
