Online camera Ulyanovsk. Minaeva Street, 12th September Street

Minaeva Street is one of the central streets of Ulyanovsk. Until 1889 it was called Soldiers' Street, because many retired military men lived there. For two years on the street lived the satirist poet Dmitry Minaev.

After his death in 1889 the street was renamed into Minaevskaya.
Until the end of the 1960s, Minaev Street was narrow with wooden houses. By the 100th anniversary of Lenin's birthday almost all wooden buildings were torn down, the street was widened, and high-rise buildings were built. The Regional Palace of Pioneers and a children's library appeared in Minaeva street.
Today length of street Minaeva is two kilometers - from Square of 30th anniversary of Victory and Goncharova street in the east to the bridge across Sviyaga river in the west.

The street was officially formed in the fall of 1918 and named after the liberation of Simbirsk from the army of White Guards, which was defeated by the Iron Division, led by Gai.

Earlier in 1918 the street was called Syzranskaya. It was on this street was the main road to the town of Syzran. Syzran itself was already part of the Simbirsk Province in 1796.
During the period from 1898 to 1900 it was called Syzransky Lane, but after the renaming got the status of street again.
At different times 12 September Street had different lengths:
from 1780 to 1887 it stretched from Saratovskaya to Moskovskaya;

from 1887 to 1990 - from Sengileyevskaya to Lisina;
from 1900 to 1918 - from Karsunskaya to Lisina;
From 1918 to 1933 - from Karsunskaya Street to Leo Tolstoy
The modern 12th September Street begins at the intersection with Karsunskaya Street and ends at the dam - at the beginning of Krymov Street.
