Kolobrzeg is both a spa town and a former fortress in Poland. It is located on the Parseta River, which flows into the Baltic Sea. Tourists who decide to visit this village will be able to relax on the beach and explore the local attractions.
Kolobrzeg arose on the site of a former Slavic fortress and became the center of the diocese during the reign of Boleslav the Brave. In 1113 the town established a de facto autonomy and was under the strong influence of the German authorities. From 1284 to 1945 it was accepted into the Hanseatic League. At that time the city was known under the name of Kohlberg.
In 1945 it became a Polish city again, most of the Germans died in the battles or left the settlement. In 1950, only 7,000 people lived in the town. Population growth began only in the period from 1960 and continues to this day.
