Amalfi is one of the most popular and beautiful resorts in Italy, the center of the Amalfi Coast - the southern coast of the Sorrento Peninsula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The city is located on the side of a cliff, the houses here are connected to each other by stairs and passages carved in the rock, and on the roofs there are gardens.
In the city between the houses grow grapes, olive, lemon and orange trees. The center of Amalfi is the Cathedral Square (Piazza Duomo) in which stands the Cathedral of St. Andrew, which houses the relics of St. Andrew, the patron saint of the city.
