Sheffield is a large English city located near the town of Rotherham at the foot of the Pennines in the valley of the River Don in the central part of South Yorkshire, 57 km south of Leeds, the third largest city in the UK.
It covers an area of 367 km² and is home to more than 577,000 people. Shefield and its neighbouring towns and cities make up the third most populous agglomeration in England with over 1.5 million people. In and around the city there are many city parks, botanical gardens and woodlands.
It is one of the greenest cities in Europe. The city has a humid temperate climate with warm winters and cool summers.
