Pobedy Street, formerly Mologskaya Street, is located in Kirovsky and Leninsky districts of Yaroslavl between Bolshaya Oktyabrskaya and Volzhskaya Embankment. Nowadays it is a busy thoroughfare with numerous shopping centers, administrative buildings, educational institutions. Among the sights are the Ascension Barracks, the Church of Nikita Martyr, Yaroslavl Cathedral Mosque.

From the beginning of the 19th century the street from the present Bolshaya Oktyabrskaya Street to Oktyabr Prospect was called Mologskaya Street after the town of Mologa, Yaroslavl Province, and the street from Oktyabr Prospect to the Volga embankment - Malaya Petropavlovskaya Street after the Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul (demolished in 1937).

In December 1924 was renamed into Victory Street in honor of the victory of the Bolsheviks in the October Revolution and the Civil War, and Malaya Petropavlovskaya Street was renamed into Mendeleev Street in honor of the scientist Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev - a brilliant chemist who discovered the periodic law of elements. In 1965, Mendeleev Street was annexed to Victory Street
