Argentina is one of the largest and most economically developed countries in Latin America. It has an area of 2,767,000 km² (excluding the Falkland Islands, or Malvinas, a disputed territory with Great Britain). The population is about 33.5 million people. Most believers are Catholics. The capital is Buenos Aires. The country was formed in its modern borders in the XIX century after winning independence in 1816.

During the colonial period, Argentina was one of the most backward areas of the continent, as the Spanish found no gold and other precious metals here. Since the mid-nineteenth century, however, the fertile plains of the Argentine Pampa became the largest area of European immigration in the Western Hemisphere. The core of the Argentine nation is made up of the Creoles, the Spanish born in Argentina.

Santa Clara del Mar is a coastal city in the south of the province of Buenos Aires in eastern Argentina with a population of 5,000.
The settlement is located between the Mar Chiquita Lagoon in the north and Mar del Plata in the south, a distance of 10 kilometers.
