Webcam Saratov. Kirov Avenue, Pioneer Cinema online in real time

Kirov Avenue is the central street of Saratov, with which all tours of the city begin. The street Skobelev, Nemetskaya, Respubliki - these are all the old names of the avenue, earlier it was called "Nevsky Prospect", but now Kirov Avenue is majestically called "Saratov Arbat".

In 1812 in the plans of the city in place of the avenue was not even a street, only a small Catholic church, built of wood. But in the middle of the eighteenth century everything changed. At first the German colonists, taking advantage of the manifesto of Catherine II on the preferential treatment of immigrants, began to build up the street with houses and workshops (hence the first name of the street - Nemetskaya).

Then the head of the city, L.S. Maslennikov, trying to increase the city's revenue, raised the price of retail outlets in the Gostiny Dvor, thereby forcing traders to the upper bazaar. The alley grew rapidly and almost in half a century from the outskirts turned into the central street of Saratov. In 1917 it was renamed Republic street, but in March 1935 it was already called Kirov avenue.

At the end of the nineteenth century on the street were streetcars, replacing the horse-drawn carriages, then they were replaced by trolleybuses, and now Kirov Avenue is a pedestrian area with decorative paving and well-kept trees.

Today on the avenue is an architectural symbol of Saratov - the Sobinov State Conservatory, and many other monuments: Stolichny Lombard, house of P. Nikitin, house of F. Druzhinin, house of Bestuzhev, parochial school. Also on the street are located sculptures that warm the souls of Saratov citizens: "So many golden lights" and "Saratov harmonica", a musical fountain "Lira".
