Webcam Xuanwu Lake, Nanjing
Xuanwu Lake is located in Xuanwu District in central Nanjing in Jiangsu Province, near Nanjing Railway Station and Ji Ming Temple. The Ming Wall borders the park to the south and east, and there is a remarkable pagoda and Zifeng Tower overlooking the lake. The lake covers an area of 444 hectares and is 15 kilometers in circumference.
According to local legend, a black dragon was seen in the lake, which the Chinese Taoists considered the god protector of waters, and they named it Xuanwu. Over the years, the lake was named after the dragon.
Xuanwu is the largest royal garden lake in China and is known as the Pearl of Jinling.
