Webcam Gdansk Walesa Airport
Gdansk Airport was opened in 1974, replacing the old airport, which was located on Zaspa and had functioned since the 1930s. In 1995, the reconstruction of the complex began, during which the building of the terminal No. 2 was opened (now used as an international airline terminal), and the length of the runway was increased.
In 2004, the airport received its present name - the authorities of Gdansk decided that the airport should be named after the former Polish President Lech Wałęsa. Today Lech Wałęsa Airport is the biggest airport in Poland's Trójmiasto agglomeration and one of the biggest airports in Poland (the complex serves about 1.7 million tourists annually).
