Troitsk is a small town in Chelyabinsk Region, located at the confluence of the Uy and Uvelka rivers, 121 kilometers south of Chelyabinsk.
The area of the settlement is 16.3 square kilometers.
In 1743 on the site of the modern city was founded fortress Uyskaya fortified border line.
In 1750 by decree of Elizabeth Petrovna in the village was created a fair.
In the spring of 1774 the fortress was taken by storm by forces of Yemelyan Pugachev, but the next day Pugachev was defeated by Colonel De Kolong.
In 1784 by the decree of Catherine II the fortress received the status of a district town of Ufa namestnichestvo.
In the early 19th century several parochial schools and colleges were opened in Troitsk. In the second half of the century the city had its first library, men's and women's gymnasiums.
In 1889 in the settlement lived 14 thousand people, there were 8 churches, 4 mosques and a synagogue. The industry was represented by tanneries, breweries, candle making, tallow mills, flour mills and soap factories.
During civil war of the early 20th century Troitsk several times passed from the White Guards to the Red Guards.
During the Great Patriotic War the machine-tool and electromechanical plants were evacuated to the city.
In the 1960s, active construction of apartment buildings and industrial enterprises began in Troitsk.
In the next 20 years, new residential areas and recreational facilities were built.
